Chapter 1

Lucy looks into the wardrobe

by Lisa-Marie and Sophie

Once there were four children called Peter, Lucy, Susan, and Edmund. One dark night while they were in bed the sirens went off that meant the bombs were going to drop. Lucy's mum came for them all to go to the bomb shelter. Lucy was scared - it felt like the world was going to end.

They stayed in the bomb shelter all night. It was dark, cosy and small in the bomb shelter but it is also spooky. The next day the children had to be evacuated to the countryside where they would be safe.

They arrived at the train station and sadly said goodbye to their mum. "Goodbye Lucy", said their mum, trying not to cry. "Goodbye Susan and Edmund. Peter look after your sisters and brother, wont you?" "I will mum", Peter sadly replied. "All aboard", shouted the conductor.

They gave their mum one last hug, gave their ticket to the conductor, and stepped on the train. "Bye mum, love you!" they all shouted. "See you dears, missing you already." Then the train set off. "I wonder what will happen to us?" thought Lucy, trying to take her mind off missing her mum.

On the train, they were very excited because they had never been on a train before. At first they thought it was fun but as the journey got longer they thought it was dull and boring. When the train got to the last stop they got off but no one was there. Then Lucy said "Oh look there is a carriage coming this way."

They all stepped out on the road. The carriage stopped and they saw a lady who was wearing glasses and a granny flower dress. The lady asked "Oh are you the children, the evacuees? Get in the carriage. I am Mrs Macready."

The children were amazed when they finally got there; they had never seen a house so big! When they got inside, it looked very old, like an extra large mansion!

The next day all the children decided to explore the house, as it was raining. Quite soon they came to an empty room. All it had in it was an old fireplace, and a wardrobe with a looking glass.

"Nothing here", said Peter and they all trooped out again. All except Lucy. She thought it would be worthwhile trying the door of the wardrobe even though she felt sure it would be locked. It opened quite easily. Lucy saw lots of fur coats then she stepped inside.

Lucy loved the smell of the fur. It got darker and darker each step Lucy took so she but her arms in front of her so she could feel the back of the wardrobe with her finger tips.

However, she could not feel the wood work at the back. She felt a thorny tree and she said to herself "What is this? Oh my, it must be a winter wonder land."

Lucy decided to walk into this place, and soon came to a lamppost. But something made her stop exploring, and stand still. She had heard a pitter- patter of feet.

When Lucy had stepped into this wonderland, she had thought it was deserted, except from all the trees. The pitter-patter of feet carried on. And then, "Ahh!" screamed Lucy. "Oh my goodness", shouted a creature, who dropped parcels as he ran behind a bush.

Lucy peeped out at the creature. She walked toward the bush he was hiding behind, and that caught his attention. He came from his hiding place, as Lucy picked up a parcel, and gently held it out towards him. He looked a looked at the parcel to make sure it was his, and then said politely, "I did my winter shopping today". "Oh right", Lucy said, "My name is Lucy Pevensie".

The creature gave a little smile at Lucy, then replied, "Hello Lucy, I am Mr. Tumnus, the faun. But can I very well ask you, Are you a human?" "Well of course I'm a human, what else would I be?"

Then Lucy saw why he had asked that question. Mr. Tumnus had brown, glossy goat's legs with hooves instead of shoes. Mr. Tumnus wore no top and had horns coming out of his head.

"Would you like to come to my house?" Mr. Tumnus asked. Lucy agreed. "May I ask you a question, emm, what is this place?" she asked. "Why my dear child this is Narnia. Every icicle from this to Cair Paravel on the eastern coast is Narnia."

By the time they got there Lucy was very hungry. Mr. Tumnus's house was a cave in the side of the rock. There was a door that had the fauns name written on.

Lucy and Mr. Tumnus went inside. The faun put the kettle on and made some sandwiches. He brought them over to a round table in the middle of the living room, and he fetched two mugs of hot, creamy chocolate. They both sat down and Mr. Tumnus got out a flute and started to play a beautiful tune. Soon Lucy fell asleep, and while she was dozing Mr. Tumnus sat in the corner and started to cry.

Lucy woke up and asked the faun why he was crying. He told Lucy that he had really kidnapped her and was planning to give her to the White Witch, but that now he had got to know her he really felt that he couldn't do this. Lucy gave him her hankie to dry his tears. They agreed that it was best if Lucy went back home so they set out back into the snow.

Chapter 2

Edmund and the wardrobe

by Rebecca

Eventually they reached the lamppost. Before they parted Lucy asked the faun "Are you going to be alright?" He replied that he would be and held onto Lucy's hankie. Lucy then went back through the wardrobe.

One wet, stormy day, while there was nothing to do, Susan said, "Lets play a game! How about hide and seek?" "Hide and seek!" said Edmund, "I'm already bored out mind!"

Susan ignored him and started counting. Lucy went into the empty room and hid in the wardrobe. "Fool !" Edmund said to himself. Edmund decided to follow her into the wardrobe.

He went in and to his surprise, Lucy wasn't there! Then Edmund felt the temperature changing. "How peculiar!" said Edmund shockingly. Then he found his feet in snow. He was in Narnia!

Edmund looked around. He quickly decided he didn't like the place and turned to go back, but then, he heard a jingling sound like bells.

He followed the sound, and there he found a sledge drawn by two reindeer. Inside the sledge, was a woman. The woman had a white fur coat and a snow white dress. She wore a crown made from icicles. Her face was white and pale, and she looked pretty scary.

"You! Stop!" said the woman, "What are you? A dwarf who has cut his beard off?" "No - no - " stammered Edmund, "I'm a boy." "A boy! Do you mean a son of Adam? ! A human? !" "Yes", said Edmund.

The woman paused. "Dear boy," she said tenderly, "You look cold. Come into to my sledge with me." Edmund did.

Edmund got into the sledge with his teeth chattering. "Allow me to introduce myself" she said, "I am queen of Narnia. Would you like anything to drink?" "Yes please" cried Edmund.

The queen (well, that's what she said she was) took out of her pocket a glass ball and dropped it on the snow. Suddenly a goblet appeared filled with a sweet drink. A dwarf (her servant) picked it up and gave it to the queen. Edmund sipped the drink. It tasted of hot cocoa.

"What would you like to eat?" asked the queen. "Turkish delight please!"" said Edmund eagerly.

She did the same with the glass ball, and there was Turkish delight. Now this wasn't any Turkish delight, it was enchanted Turkish delight. Once you've had some you can't stop, you have to eat more!

"Have you ever been here before?" asked the queen. "No" replied Edmund, "But my sister Lucy has. She said she met a faun here called Mr Tumnus."

"Really?" said the witch cunningly, "Do you have any more brothers or sisters?" "Yes" replied Edmund "One brother and two sisters"

The queen paused. "Look at the time!" said the queen suddenly, "Must be going! But if you ever need me my house is between those two hills." She pointed at two tall, jagged hills, with a castle in the middle. Edmund jumped out of the sledge, and watched her go.

Edmund walked back to the wardrobe, and there he saw Lucy. "Oh Edmund !" exclaimed Lucy, "You came! You should of come with me I had tea with Mr Tumnus!" Edmund just grunted and they went back through the wardrobe.

When they returned to the others, Lucy went to Peter and shouted, "Edmund has seen it too!" "Seen what?" said Susan. "He has been to Narnia inside the wardrobe!"

"Edmund?" said Peter very confused. Edmund all of a sudden felt something go over him. He was going to do the meanest thing he had ever done!

"That's right. Just for pretend. We pretended that there was a magical land inside the wardrobe! Just for fun of course!" Lucy burst into tears.

The next day, Susan and Peter went to see the professor about Lucy and Edmund.

"You see professor," said Peter, "Lucy keeps saying that there is a magical land in the wardrobe, but Edmund says that she's just pretending".

The professor then said the last thing they had expected, "Well, how do you know, who is telling the truth?" said the professor. Susan and Peter were thinking the same thing, (I bet you are too!). Susan and Peter left, but their question was still not answered.

Now, Mrs Macready was not very fond of children, and Mrs Macready showed people around the house. To make sure the children weren't in her way while she was showing people around the house, she followed them everywhere.

The children ran away. To hide from Mrs Macready they ran into the room with the wardrobe. They ran into the wardrobe shouting at each other. 'Don't push!' Then they were there, Narnia!

Chapter 3

Into the Forest

by Sarah-Beth

As the four children entered the wardrobe they started to grumble.

"Ouch my foot!" one of them said. Susan started to moan and she said, "It's freezing in here". "Yes I can feel it too," Peter agreed.

Lucy said, "Oh it's just the snow". "Snow? Whatever do you mean? Wait I think we are next to the world of Narnia!" said Susan .When they saw the wonderful place they just gasped and stared.

They all decided to go back home but then Lucy began to cry. "We can't go. We must see Mr.Tumnus''. So they decided to stay.

Edmund had entered the Witch's home and soon came to the main courtyard. It was an unbelievable sight - it was filled with creatures and animals, but they were stone statues.

Meanwhile the others were half way to the stone table where they were to meet Aslan.

When they reached Mr.Tumnus's home Lucy screamed as the front door of his house had been smashed to bits. She found a note she thought it was from Mr. Tumnus but it wasn't. The note said that Mr. Tumnus had been arrested by order of the White Witch. When Lucy had finished reading the note she burst into tears.

Lucy left the house and the others followed. They all wandered into the forest and as they sat down for a rest they saw a brown flash zoom by. Peter saw a part of the brown creature and yelled out, "It's a beaver''.

The beaver introduced himself and when he had finished he said that if they didn't leave the forest then the White Witch would get them. So they left and headed for the beavers home. When they got there they met another beaver.

They all began to talk and then the beavers both introduced themselves, "My name is Mr.Beaver and this is Mrs.Beaver''. Everybody sat down and began to eat.

The beavers told the children the prophecy about Cair Paravel and when they had finished they noticed Edmund was missing. They looked round and saw that the door was open.

"Edmund has betrayed us '' said Mr. Beaver. Lucy said that they should look for him but everyone else disagreed and said that they would rather let Edmund find his own way back. The beavers said that Aslan was to meet them so they set off on the journey.

Chapter 4

The Spell Begins To Break

by Joe and Ria

The beavers and the children left the beaver's house. They had not been going long when they heard a sound of jingling bells. They quickly hid inside a cave thinking it was the White Witch.

Mr. Beaver went to see who it was. "Hey look, it's Father Christmas, not the White Witch", said Mr Beaver. Mrs Beaver and the children climbed out of their hiding place. "It is Father Christmas!" exclaimed Peter.

Father Christmas picked up a big sack of presents. He shoved his hand into the sack and brought out a sword and a shield.

"This is for you Peter, for you to fight with and to use as protection", said Father Christmas. "Thank you", replied Peter.

"This is for you Susan. Whenever you are in danger, just shoot an arrow", he said, and he gave her a bow and a tube of arrows. "Thank you", replied Susan.

"I give you, Lucy, a dagger and this bottle. Inside this bottle there is a mixture, and if anyone gets injured just put a drop on them and they will be cured," announced Father Christmas. Then he left.

Let's get back to Edmund. He was nearly at the Witch's palace, and as he entered the courtyard he became quite frightened. He could see that all the animals had been turned into stone.

At last he had reached the Witch but the she didn't seem happy. "How dare you enter my palace without bringing your brothers and sisters!" she shouted, "Sorry Queen of Narnia but all I know is that my brothers and sisters were at the beaver's house" muttered Edmund.

All Edmund could think of right now was Turkish delight. "Please can I have some Turkish Delight?" asked Edmund quietly. "Dwarf, get this boy some food", shouted the White Witch.

The Dwarf ran away and came back with some dried bread. "I don't want that!" shouted Edmund. "Well if you don't want that you won't have anything to eat!" muttered the Witch.

She walked into another room and Edmund heard the her say, "Go and find the children and kill them!" "Ok your majesty," replied the wolf in a rough voice. The wolf ran off out of the Witches house and into the forest.

The White Witch set off on her golden sleigh to see if the wolves had found the three children and the beavers. When the Witch arrived she got a huge shock! The wolves were having a party.

"What is the meaning of this?" she cried. "Who gave you these tea cups and things?" she asked. "FFFFFFather Christmas" stammered one of the wolves. "What !!" screamed the Witch, springing from her sleigh. She was very angry so she waved her wand and turned the wolves into stone.

The Witch got back on the sledge and drove off into the distance. While they were on the sledge Edmund noticed that the snow was disappearing as it was starting to thaw. This was making it difficult for the sledge to run.

Suddenly the sledge broke down. "Well we'll have to walk then", said the White Witch. They all got out of the sledge and started to walk.

In the meanwhile, the other three children and the beavers arrived at their destination. "The stone table!" shouted Mrs Beaver. "We found it at last!" they all exclaimed.

The children and the beavers walked on and then they saw a crowd of strange creatures. The children walked over and then they noticed that the creatures were staring at a tent, then they all bowed.

A lion came out of the tent. "That must be Aslan!" shouted Susan, and it was. Then the children began bow too.

Chapter 5

Peter's First Battle

by Lewis and Chloe O.

As the children and the beavers arrived at the stone table there was a crowd of people (or should I say, mystical beings) standing before them. There were bulls with human heads, horses with spiralled horns, (unicorns are the proper term) bulky leopards with multi-coloured spots and in the very centre, a Lion - a great Lion, with its mane shimmering in the spring breeze.

"Welcome Peter, Son of Adam," said Aslan the Lion, "Welcome Susan and Lucy, Daughters of Eve, and welcome Mr and Mrs Beaver and thanks for showing Peter and his sisters (Susan and Lucy scowled a tiny scowl) here to the campsite. That has been an enormous help. But where is Edmund, the fourth Son of Adam?"

"He betrayed us - to her!" said Mr Beaver dramatically. "Don't exaggerate Beaver. Surely there is a reasonable explanation." "It's my fault really," sighed Peter, "I think he got mad at me and told the White Witch about us to get his own back."

While the conversation between Peter and Aslan went on, Susan and Lucy snuck off to the forest when a huge wolf leaped out from behind the trees.

About half a mile away, Aslan said, "I can hear your sisters horn", and with that Peter sped off to the rescue.

When he got to the source of the horn, Lucy was running for her life and Susan was climbing a tree as fast as she could.

Peter killed the wolf with one blow of his sword, and Aslan said "Peter, clean your sword." Peter did as he was told. "Rise, Sir Peter Wolfs-bane" said Aslan proudly as he tapped Peter with the sword.

In the meanwhile, the other wolf ran back to wolf the White Witches' castle.

"Where are the daughters of Eve and the son of Adam?" the Witch said angrily. "They are at the stone table your majesty". "I want the children!" "I will get them so don't worry your majesty" the wolf said obediently to the White Witch.

Peter, Susan and Lucy found Edmund tied to a tree. "HELP!" said Edmund very scared, because he thought the White Witch was going to kill him. Edmund felt very lucky to be saved his brother and sisters, he thought that he would be with the Witch forever (well for all his life).

"Thank you for saving me" said Edmund happily. "Its ok" said Peter and Susan. "Don't go to the White Witch again" said Lucy. "I won't!" said Edmund politely.

The next day, Aslan had a word with Edmund. Nobody heard them so I can't tell you about it. Everybody forgave him but the White Witch came to spoil the moment. "That boy must die on the stone table!" she bellowed at Aslan while pointing at Edmund.

Then they had a long talk - a very long talk, until Aslan said, "She doesn't want to kill Edmund any more. Peter, we are going to sort this out in a battle." Then Aslan told Peter the plan for the battle.

Peter was excited about the battle. He was not scared.

Chapter 6

The Triumph of the Witch

by Chloe P. and Tommy

The children, Aslan and all the other creatures on their side were camping out at the Fords of Beruna. It was the middle of the night and Susan and Lucy couldn't sleep.

They both whispered to each other at the same time, "Are you awake?" After a brief silence, Susan whispered, "There's something wrong with Aslan." "I know, he's been down all afternoon hasn't he?" replied Lucy "Why don't we take a look if he's outside, we could comfort him."

With that, they tiptoed out of their tents, and to their surprise, there was Aslan walking through the wood. Lucy and Susan quietly followed Aslan into the deep wood.

Aslan warned them, "There is great danger, stay where you are." "OK" replied Lucy and Susan and did what Aslan had said.

Aslan was right, there was great danger, the White Witch was there! Suddenly, the White Witch jumped out!

"Ah, Aslan" the witch calmly said "You've arrived..." "Get him!" ordered Maugrim, the witch's chief wolf.

Suddenly monsters came with swords and spears and virtually ripped Aslan's mane off. Aslan was pinned to the stone table and tied up with strong rope. Lucy and Susan were both crying as they looked on.

Then the horrible White Witch grasped her dagger and plunged it into Aslan's heart. Aslan let out a yelp of pain then shut his eyes.

"Let's go!" exclaimed the Witch, and she and her accomplices disappeared. Lucy and Susan walked over to Aslan, quivering and hoping that he would still be breathing. Susan went to check.

"He he he's dead" she whispered and they both burst into floods of tears.

They were so upset they didn't notice the mice that were nibbling at the ropes. When they did see them, they became even more upset.

"Poor things" said Lucy. "They don't realise that untying him will not do him any good." They rushed back to the campsite and raced to their brother's tent.

"Peter, Edmund wake up, something terrible has happened!" they both shouted. "Shh or you will wake the whole campsite" said Peter.

"They've woken me and that's a start" grunted Edmund sleepily. "Shut up, Ed" said Peter. "Now girls, what's happened?"

Lucy and Susan told them the whole story and then burst into more tears. "Its okay, calm down girls, just get a good nights sleep and we'll tell Mr Beaver in the morning." said Peter.

Both girls walked back to their tents, sniffling as they took each step, full of sadness over Aslan, and anguish over the White Witch.

In the morning, the boys heard a familiar voice, calling them to come outside. "Aslan!" Peter and Edmund said simultaneously.

They quickly went outside as fast as they could go! They went back to get the girls who hugged and kissed Aslan, ecstatic that he was alive.

"But how... when... who..." said Peter. "Well" said Aslan "there was a magic long ago of what the Witch did not know of. If she had looked back before The Dawn of Time she would have found it. The magic had said that if a willing person were to die for a traitor i.e. Edmund then the stone table would crack and death itself would be reversed."

"Well I'm just glad you're back Aslan" said Lucy happily.

"Now, we must get down to business" said Aslan "We will go to the witches' castle and change all the statues back. That will increase our army and our chances of winning. You are to ride on my back".

When they got to the castle, Aslan firstly changed back all the outside statues, and then went on to do the inside. Then they found Mr Tumnus and when he was alive, Lucy was crying tears of joy.

They returned with the creatures and found the witch waiting for them.

"Aslan!" "How?" She said full of rage.

Chapter 7

The Battle

by Chloe P.

"I suppose you haven't got your entire power back, witch?" said Aslan. "Alright ATTACK!!" yelled the witch. The battle had begun.

The girls were wondering whether to get off Aslan's back when Aslan said "Get off my back, children!" Peter and the Witch were fighting so vigorously the sword and dagger were a blur.

Suddenly, Aslan jumped at the Witch from behind and she fell to the floor with a thud. At last the White Witch was dead! "Arrgh"! came a groan from behind. Everybody stopped looking at the Witch and turned round. Edmund was on the ground.

"Lucy, quickly use your potion before he dies" said Peter. Lucy ran as fast as her little legs would go. She put a tiny little drop where Edmund had been stabbed and he rose to his feet, fully healed.

"Come children" said Aslan, a gleam in his bright blue eyes. "It is time for your coronation at Cair Paravel". The children were given beautiful clothes. The girl's dazzling golden dresses, very glittery, the boys golden suits, also very glittery.

"Arise Queens Susan and Lucy, Daughters of Eve". Arise Kings Peter and Edmund, Sons of Adam". On their heads were placed golden crowns.

"Its time to go back through the wardrobe" said Aslan. "I'll miss Narnia" said Lucy tearfully. "You will come across it when you least expect it" said Aslan, and they all went back through the wardrobe.

When they got through they found that the time had not changed and everything was exactly the same...
