The Enchanted Wood
By Enid Blighton

"Adventurous and Exciting. A Truly Gripping Read!"
This story is the first in a series of books. It is about three children called Joe, Beth and Frannie who have just moved to a new house with their parents. There they discover an Enchanted wood with a magic Faraway tree!

When they go to the wood they meet up with some funny and very kind people. The children go to the wood nearly every day and something magical happens!

The magic is sometimes amazing and sometimes dreadful. You'll need to read the book to find out why. Joe said that they were not to go back to the woods. Their temptation was high so they had to, but something really unbelievable happens.

I think this book is suitable for all ages, even adults! I think this book could be read in a group or individually, I think either girls or boys could read it and both will think it's enjoyable. It is also very funny because of some of the characters in the story. There are some twists in the story including loosing Joe in the magical moment. Enid Blyton really describes the way some of the characters act. The words are quite easy to understand although their might be a few hard words for younger children.

I like the way that Enid Blyton grips your imagination and makes you want to read on and you don't want to take your eyes off it. The book does not have any pictures but you can imagine the story in your head.

I think that this book deserves five stars!

The Twits
By Roald Dahl

"Funny, interesting, and an imaginative read."
The story is about Mr.Twit & Mrs.Twit. They are an extremely odd and disgusting couple. They like nothing better than to play horrid tricks on each other. This story is my favourite book because of the way the Twits treat each other,
Roald Dahl describes in gory detail of how they eat and wash. Roald Dahl has used some good phrases like Muggle Wump to describe the monkey and the Rolly Polly Bird, from Africa.

The Twits are really mean, especially towards birds. The birds decide to get revenge on the couple, for their nasty deeds. The plan is to stick them to the floor. Does the plan work? Are the birds saved by the Rolly Polly bird? You will have to wait and see.

I think this book is great and a worth while read. This book is suitable for any age. It has all the fun that you could possibly want from a story. Roald Dahl is an inspirational author that every one loves. I think this is Roald Dahl's greatest story!

I give "The Twits" a five star rating!

Wonderpants from "Unreal"
By Paul Jennings
"Cleverly Written and Exciting".

This story is set in Australia; it is about the everyday dramas of a boy named David. His mum makes him some awful under pants which do not suit David at all! But David finds out there not ordinary underpants. David also has a pet mouse, called Swiss Sam, but is parents don't know it leaves under his bed.

David has trouble at school with a bully and every time he turns round he's there. David thinks he's a pest; he's never liked him from the day they met.

My favourite part of the story is when the bully steals his clothes by the lake and David ends up running home completely naked!

This story would be suitable for ages nine and over. If you have a good sense of humour I would recommend this book for you.

My star rating is "5".
