Tameside School Sports Partnership held their annual awards evening at The Village in Ashton last week.
The evening was opened with a dance performance by our Year 5 pupils - an African tribal dance they had performed during national Sports Week.
Our school came away from the event with three fabulous awards. The first award we received was for putting on the best National Sports Week out of all primary schools in Tameside. I am sure you will agree that this was a much deserved award - both parents and children had a wonderful week, with opening and closing ceremonies, Mini Olympics, new sports such as vigour boarding, and much, much more.
The second award we received was the crème de la crème award - Outstanding Performance in Competition. This is a top award and also well deserved as the school sports teams have won many competitions at borough level and have gone on to represent Tameside in Greater Manchester competitions.
The final award of the evening was extra special - a recognition award to Mrs Rowley for her dedication and hard work in school sports over many years.
The evening closed with another performance from the Year 5 dance team who received great applause.
Megan and Paolo will both be taking on the role of Sports Ambassador for our school in September. They are involved in many aspects of sport both in and out of school and have both had a very successful year.
