Following our successful Sports Week in 2010, Our Lady of Mount Carmel School has been presented with a cheque from Lloyds TSB for £1000 towards purchasing Sports Equipment.
Sue Whitehurst Manager of Lloyds TSB in Ashton and Andrea Slattery also from Lloyds TSB presented the school with a giant sized cheque for £1000 which was received by sports ambassadors Megan and Paolo.
Also present were Cllr. Margaret Sidebottom, Mary Guilfoyle - SSCO from St Damians High School, Laura Cunningham - Competitions Manager from Tameside School Sport Partnership and Jeff and Gavin our sports coaches. All these people played a big part in making our National Sports Week, last year such a success.
Last year we also won the Tameside National Sports Week Award for Primary Schools.
Many thanks go to all our parents who made pledges to Lloyds TSB online during National Sports Week to pledge their support to our school in sports. Every child made their own pledge: to improve or help learn a sport that week.
