During National Sports Week many children took part in our activities to promote safe cycling.
Children also dressed their bikes for a competition - their bikes came dressed as fairies, flowers, spiders, and many other characters.
Children from Years 3 and 4 received cycling proficiency training during the week.
Mrs Lawrence taught them how to manouvre their bikes round corners and through tight spaces; how to ride their bike and hold their balance using only one hand; how to stop safely and how to manage their bikes.
Children from Year 1 had the opportunity to develop their cycling skills under the guidnace of Mrs Collinge. The children had lots of fun and felt more confident by the end of the session.
The national 'Cow Scheme' - Cycle Once a Week - was promoted during National Sports Week.
The Cow mascot chatted with all the children about the benefits of cycling to and from school and rewarded children with a 'Cow' badge. He even had a go at the very popular hooping activity!
