National Schools Sports Week 2009

The 2009 Lloyds TSB National School Sport Week starts on Monday 29th June!

Parents are welcome to come to all activities during our "National Sports and Healthy School Week" which will be based around our "Mini-Olympics".

On Monday morning we will have a mini-Olympics opening. The opening will be carried out by Councillor Bill Harrison and by Ian Jones, Bronze Medalist at the Beijing 2008 Paralympics.

Each class will represent a country and process around the playground in the national costumes, followed by a national dance. Children will take part in our Mini-Olympic games throughout the week, with a closing ceremony on Friday afternoon where certificates and prizes will be awarded, followed by a party in each class with food from that country.

We will also be taking part in the COW Scheme (Cycle Once a Week) and are encouraging children to cycle, scooter or walk to school next week.
