Each month we award the title of "Our Lady of Mount Carmel's Sports Person of the Month"
Ronan, age 10, is the winner of our Sports Person of the Month for December.
Ronan has been involved in school sporting activities throughout his time at our school. He has more recently played exceptionally well in tag rugby competitions. Ronan also plays football and basketball and enjoys athletics.
Ronan plays for Dukinfield Rugby Club at weekends and attends training sessions during the week. He has enjoyed great success with this team.
Charlotte, age 11, is the winner of our Sports Person of the Month for November.
Charlotte has been involved in school sporting activities throughout her time at our school. She has more recently played exceptionally well in tag rugby and girls football competitions.
Charlotte also plays basketball and enjoys athletics.
Lewis, age 9, is the winner of our Sports Person of the Month for October.
He was one of several pupils who represented the school in the Tameside Catholic Schools Cross-Country competition. He ran in the boys' under-9's category, coming 2nd place in the overall competition out of over 80 runners. Lewis also ran exceptionally well in the Tameside Cross Country Grand Prix Series at which he achieved two first place and one second place finishes.
Lewis is involved in many sporting activities outside of school. These include rugby and running.
Megan, age 8, is the winner of our Sports Person of the Month for September.
She was one of several pupils who represented the school in the Tameside Catholic Schools Cross-Country competition. She ran in the girls' under-9's category, coming 3rd place in the overall competition out of over 80 runners. Megan also ran exceptionally well in the Tameside Cross Country Grand Prix Series at which she won individual medals.
Megan is involved in many sporting activities outside of school. These include dancing, volleyball, swimming, running. Megan has also represented the school swimming team.
Brandon has represented the school in many sports throughout his time in the school.
He has shared team success in cross country, basketball, volleyball, tag rugby, athletics and football. He has developed a high level of skill in all of these activities and possesses a positive, supportive team spirit.
Brandon is a member of East Cheshire Harriers where he trains on a weekly basis. He has also become a very proficient golfer.
Caitlin has represented the school in many sports throughout her time in the school. She has shared team success in cross country, basketball, volleyball, netball, tag rugby athletics, football and cheerleading.
She has developed a high level of skill in all of these activities and possesses a positive, supportive team spirit.
Caitlin is a member of East Cheshire Harriers where she trains on a weekly basis.
Shannon has represented the school in many sports including cross country, basketball, volleyball and football. She has developed a high level of skill in all of these activities and possesses a positive, supportive team spirit.
Shannon is a member of Curzon Ashton Football Club. She plays in the right midfield position for the Under 10 Girls team which at present looks set to win the local league this season.
Shannon also enjoys rock climbing at 'Rockhoppers' in Rochdale where she has mastered the basic techniques of abseiling, rock climbing and tying the essential safety knots. Shannon is also a proficient cyclist.
Sophie is a good all round athlete and has represented the school in many sports including, basketball, tag rugby, volleyball and football.
She is a member of Curzon Ashton Football Club and is hoping to qualify for the Greater Manchester team. Sophie puts hundred percent into everything she does and has developed a high level of skill in all of these activities.
She is a very enthusiastic play leader who encourages and promotes good teamwork with the infants at dinnertimes.
Joe has been a member of the school cross country team for four years and has participated in every race both at King George's and East Cheshire. He has a natural talent for long distance running and has developed into an excellent runner. Joe has also been involved in school athletics competitions. He is a good team player and is always keen to represent the school.
Outside of school Joe is an active and very able skateboarder. He attends an indoor skate centre in Stockport and several outdoor skate parks in and around Tameside. Joe is also a very proficient cyclist and a keen swimmer.
