Tameside Cross Country Relay Competition
The school cross country team had another successful year at the Tameside Cross Country Relays Competion in February this year (2010).
The Girls A Team came first and the Girls B Team came third – an outstanding result for the girls. The boys also ran very well but up against tougher competion this year.
Cross Country Tameside Championships
The school cross country team ended the season on a high at the Tameside Cross Country Championships held in March this year (2010). Three out of four teams won the team first place trophy - the Under 9 Girls, Under 9 Boys and Under 11 Girls with the Under 11 Boys coming second.
In the Under 9 Girls team Tess ran to glory finishing in first place and Denver was hot on her heels finishing in second place.
The cross country team totally excelled themselves this year, yet again setting a new record of wins. Last year the team won eight out of fourteen trophies but this year they topped this by winning ten trophies along with a host of individual medals!
The team train hard all year round both at the Monday after school Athletics Club and at lunchtimes. Many children also train at East Cheshire Harriers. All their efforts have really paid dividends and we are very proud of their achievements.
