There was a Triple Win for Our Lady of Mount Carmel Primary School at the Tameside Cross Country Team Championships held at East Cheshire Harriers and Tameside Athletics Club on a cold and windy Saturday morning in March!
We won three out of the four races held. Cups went to the Girls' Under 11s, Boys' Under 11s and Girls' Over 11s teams.
Twenty four schools and over 500 children took part and there were exceptional runs made in the not-so-good conditions.
Daniel in Year 4 did exceedingly well coming 1st in the Under 11s boys and Megan came second in the Under 11s girls. Natalie in Year 6 qualified to represent Tameside in the Greater Manchester Run.

The teams from Our Lady of Mount Carmel had a very successful day at the Cross Country Relay Championship in January 2008!
Our Girls' Relay Team came first and won the gold.
Our Boys' Relay Team were leading all the way, only to be overtaken in the last few minutes in a dramatic finish. The boys received silver in second place.
The children ran exceptionally well and we are proud of their success!
