Teams of children from Our Lady of Mount Carmel School have done very well at rugby this school year.

In June, a mixed team (boys and girls) of pupils from our school very successfully took part in a tag-rugby competition. They beat more than 30 other Tameside schools in two tournaments to win the competition for the whole of Tameside.

The team then went on to represent Tameside at the Greater Manchester Mini-Games held at Alder High School, where they came second overall! A great achievement!
Two of the team members celebrate their success.

In November 2003, the Years 5 and 6 team took part in a "Rugby World Cup" tournament at Old Aldwinian's Rugby ground. Our team played against thirty other teams and won! They won a replica of the Rugby world cup that England won this year.
