A group of children at Our Lady of Mount Carmel have been learning how to help others.
Children in Years 4, 5 and 6 have under gone two half days of Peer Support Training with Mrs. Brennan.
The group will work on a two week cycle, giving up their time to monitor children in all classes at lunch time.
If they see anyone who is on their own or sad and unhappy they will try to help them and encourage them to resolve any problems they may have.
The members of the group are very diligent and change their rota if they can't do their turn.
The group meet regularly to discuss strategies and, if they are worried or concerned, they know that they can go Mrs. Brennan or a class teacher who will help them.
