In 2006, children from Our Lady of Mount Carmel came top in Tameside's first Key Stage 1 Virtual Multi-skills Festival!

At the end of the summer term 27 primary schools took part in the first ever virtual multi-skills festival.

Young leaders, teaching assistants and coaches were used to help children take part in a series of simple sporty tests.

In November, Emma Heap, Competitions Manager, came into school to present the winners with certificates, and awarded the school the Winner's trophy and £100 of sports equipment vouchers.

Many thanks to Mary Guildfoyle and Year 11 play leaders from St. Damian's Science College, who organised and managed the sports festival at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Primary School. Support was given by parents, teaching assistants and teachers, and a fun day was had by all!
