In November 2009, David Heyes, the Member of Parliament for Ashton-under-Lyne, visited Our Lady of Mount Carmel School and talked to the children who recently visited London.
When they were in London, the children had had the opportunity to have a guided tour around the Houses of Parliament, where they were lucky enough to watch the Speaker, John Bercow, open the House of Commons.
They had also taken part in their own debate and learned how laws were made.
The children were very interested to learn from David Heyes about his job as an MP.
