Year 3's Mosque Visit

In March, the children of Year Three spent a very interesting morning at the mosque as guests of the Muslim ladies group led by Neela.

The class first watched a presentation on what it means to be a Muslim. It was amazing how Islam is so similar to our faith - Muslims believe in the prophets of the Old Testament and Jesus.

The children divided into groups and experienced writing their names in Arabic, dressing up in different costumes and washing before prayers.

The morning was enjoyed by all!

The Mosque is the Markazi Jamia Mosque in Newton Street, off Penny Meadow. The building used to be the old St Mary's School - where Mrs Brennan went when she was a little girl!
