On Tuesday 29th June 2010 children and mid-day supervisors from Our Lady of Mount Carmel school went to Curzon Ashton's ground to try and break the Guinness World Record for Hula Hooping for 2 minutes.
Tameside School Sport Partnerships organised a Hooping Festival which was enjoyed by all the children. The Mayor Jean Brazil and her husband Sydney were present at the Hooping Festival.
Many other schools across the country also took part in hooping at the same time.
Children at Our Lady's have been practising every dinnertime and this certainly paid off on the day, as they made it look so easy. Well done to all the children and mid-day supervisors who took part!
