During July 2007 we had a special Health Festival week as part of our Healthy Schools programme.

We started each day with a "Take Ten". This was a ten minute exercise session for all children, parents and staff.

Throughout the week the children completed a variety of activities including work on healthy eating, stress management, first aid training, cycling and alcohol awareness.

"Take Ten" sessions are carried out in all classes as part of our Healthy Physical Activity policy to promote active lifestyles and to help our children acquire the competence and confidence to become independently active.

In the hall we held a health fair, where parents and children could access information about healthy eating, sports, smoking, drug awareness and safety in the sun. A number of guest speakers were invited into school to talk to parents and children. This included a visit from our community police officer who talked to each class about stranger danger.

We also held our annual sports day during the week.

We held classes each day after school for parents and teachers, including relaxation, reiki stress relief, Taji Chi and healthy packed lunches.
