A group of children, mostly from Year 3, made their First Holy Communion in June.
The children all took part in some way in the readings, prayers and offertory procession. Their "halos" sparkled as everyone was so good and well behaved! The children sang a verse of "Jesus Lord" on their own at the end of the service.
After Mass there was a special party in the school hall which was enjoyed by all. Parents kindly brought in food for a special shared table for the guests.
The children of Year 3 would like to thank Father Francis, the ladies who helped set out the room and served refreshments, Mrs Ashton for making the lovely sashes for the boys, the parishioners and all their friends, parents and teachers who came to help and make their day so special.
It was also a special weekend for Father Francis, who celebrated 10 years as a priest. The school presented him with a card and some special medicinal gifts and holy water! Congratulations, Father Francis!
