A large group of children, mostly from Year 3, made their First Holy Communion and Confirmation in May.

This year's First Holy Communion day nearly didn't happen, when, three days before the event, part of the ceiling inside the church collapsed. The church was immediately closed.

Luckily Father Heakin, staff, parents and parishioners all rallied round and made the parish hall into a church.

In the event, the day went ahead without a hitch, the crowded atmosphere in the hall added to the excitement and all the children in Year Three were involved in the beautiful mass. The children received their First Holy Communion and Confirmation, followed by a party.
