Our Lady of Mount Carmel School Badge Our Lady of Mount Carmel RC Primary School - Ashton under Lyne
The children enjoyed a range of activities to celebrate the days leading up to the Christmas holiday, including special Christmas parties. Some of these activities are shown below. All of the Christmas and Nativity plays were performed to packed audiences!

Year 2 did an excellent performance of a Christmas play called "The Sleepy Shepherd".

The story tells us about a shepherd who couldn't get to sleep and is visited by an Angel who tells him about Jesus' birth. The children sang beautifully, many with solo parts, there was graceful dancing by the angels and every child remembered their parts by heart. The play was a lovely start to the Christmas festivities held at school.

The Nursery and Reception classes performed the "Whoopsy Daisy Angel", a story about an angel who is very clumsy and does not always get things right but God chooses her to be the special angel to lead the shepherds to the new born baby Jesus, which she does successfully! The Nursery and Reception children were a delight to watch and won the hearts of everyone.

Children from Our Lady of Mount Carmel School treated residents and staff at Kingsfield Care Centre to a Christmas concert on 17th December. They performed a selection of traditional Christmas songs and some of their own choice, accompanied by hand actions. All the residents were clapping and singing along!

Year 5 held a special Christingle service on the last day of term.

The children from Year 5 and 6 went to Hollywood Bowl for their Christmas party.
