Choir sings carols at Willow Wood

This year, once again, the choir went to sing for the patients at Willow Wood Hospice.

They performed a selection of Christmas carols and a medley of songs from the musical Oliver.

The music was led by Mrs. Crebbin on the keyboard. Mrs Brennan and Miss Bains also accompanied the group.

The singing was very much appreciated by the staff and patients.

Afterwards the children in the choir were treated to fruit juice and biscuits which were quickly devoured as they mingled and chatted with patients and staff.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel School Choir visited Meridian Healthcare's Kingsfield Care Centre to treat the residents to a Christmas Choir Concert on the 15th December.

The children performed a selection of traditional Christmas songs and a few of their own choice from a concert they performed at the Manchester's MEN Arena the previous week.

The children were accompanied by music teacher Claire Crebbins and Deputy Headteacher Pauline Rowley.

The lively concert was thoroughly enjoyed by all of the residents. One lady told the children that she did not want them to stop singing because they had made her so happy. The children were rewarded with milk shake, juices and biscuits. The highlight for them was when they went around and talked to the residents after the show.

Once again Our Lady of Mount Carmel School Choir took part in the Young Voices Concert in the MEN Arena, in Manchester, along with many other schools from across the North West on the 1st of December.

The children in the choir have given up their dinner times to learn a large selection of songs for the show.

Mrs Crebbins and Mrs Rowley have worked hard to get them to a high standard and the children performed brilliantly on the night. All the parents who attended enjoyed the show and were very proud of their children.

The choir loved taking part and the highlights were watching artists - In Cha, Summer, Experimental, Kixx and Urban Strides - who perforned exciting and unusual dance routines.

The concert supports The Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity and CLIC Sargent, caring for children with cancer.
