The school athletics team competed in the heats of the "Off the Blocks" athletics tournament at Copley Sports Centre on 16th June 2008.
The team performed extremely well, achieving a grand total of one hundred points, the highest score we have reached in this event.
The boys achieved second place in the Lap Hurdles - Joe, Thomas, Brandon and Anton. Bradley and Nwabisa came first in the Javelin. Thomas came first in the Seated Throw. Luke came second in the Standing Long Jump and Tommy came second in the Standing High Jump. Daniel, Caitlin, Natalie and Joe won the 4 x 2 Mixed Relay.
The school athletics team competed in the Catholic Schools Athletics tournament at Richmond Street on 22nd May 2008.
The team performed especially well in the event, achieving third place for small schools. Lisa Marie and Joe came third in the sprint finals; Natalie came second in the 800 metres; Luke came second in the standing long jump; Sam came third in the shot putt.
The relay team excelled themselves by coming second - Lisa Marie got the team off to a good start passing the baton on successfully to Thomas and then to Sophie, with Joe running a fantastic final leg to ensure the team's success.
