Our Healthy Tuck Shop

Many children are now benefiting from our healthy tuck shop, which has proved to be a great success and has recently been praised by Jennifer Wilson - a Tameside Nutrition and Dental Health Assistant.

All items cost just 10p, which is a lot cheaper than a bag of crisps or a chocolate bar! Our mixed fruit salads have proved to be very popular so we have extended this to three times a week.

We are also adding new items all the time to our tuck shop, including a salad bowl and breadsticks with a cheese dip (great for extra calcium).

Our school tuck shop is carefully monitored. All our snacks meet the national guidelines. We only sell items which are low in saturated fat, low in sugar and low in salt.

New Payment methods

Children in Key Stage 1 now pay for their toast termly and it has been suggested that some children in Key Stage 2 will find it easier to pay termly too.

If you would like to pay for snacks termly, please send the money in an envelope clearly marked with your children's name and 'tuck shop'. This works out at only 20p a day and will entitle you child to toast and fruit each day.

Alternatively if you would like to pay weekly the cost will be £1. Again please put this in a marked envelope and this must be handed in every Monday.

We have tried to be as flexible as possible to encourage participation in the scheme.

If children do forget to bring money in, they will not be prevented from having a snack, but we do keep a record of all unpaid money.
