Our school has collected and sent 180 pairs of shoes to the "Blue Peter Shoe Biz appeal".
The children on the Eco- committee, with the help of Mrs Winterbottom, set up the shoe appeal at the beginning of December.
Did you know that around 2 million pairs of shoes are thrown into dustbins each week in Britain? These shoes are not recycled they just take up valuable space in landfill sites.
Shoes collected for "Shoe Biz" will be recycled and sold in countries where people buy their shoes second hand.
