Every year in November we have our "Eco-Week".

"Eco" is all about helping the Environment and making sure the world is clean. All the children take part in activities to increase their awareness of ecological issues. All week the children work on projects to help improve and care for the environment, their motto being re-duce, re-use and re-cycle!

Here are some of the things we did during the November 2006 Eco Week....

The Nursery and Reception children learned about the dangers of Orang-utans becoming extinct and made a huge Orang-utan.

Year 1 children re-cycled food to make bird cake for their bird table outside the classroom.

Year 2 made some Eco Rules.

Year 3 learned about materials which were suitable for making compost. They invited someone from the council to talk to the whole school about how we should re-cycle in the different coloured bins. All the children were encouraged to make a 3D model using re-cycable materials for a competition.

The week ended with an Eco Extravaganza to which parents and friends of the school were invited.

Year 4 performed a play called 'Ronnies Revelations in the Rainforest' which explained the importance of protecting the rainforests.

Year 5 children had a re-cycled clothing fashion show with clothes made out of rubbish and bin bags.
