At the end of term the children in Year 3 performed the musical "Wormz". This was part of the activities for our special "Green Day" .
The children made up their own dances and movements and explained to the whole school the importance of worms in our eco system.
The musical was enjoyed by all and everyone joined in with the chorus of the Hermaphrodite Rap which the class sang again as a reprise. All the school made pledges to do something small to help our planet. Lots of small steps made big STRIDES!
The pledges ranged from using less water, at home and school, recycling all paper, turning off lights whenever possible, not leaving computers on when not in use, eating healthy snacks and many more. Our pledges went all across the hall as bunting and on the walls.
We will keep our pledges on display for some time so we can see if we are keeping them.
Other activities also took place. For instance, the flower beds were tidied and replanted around the school.
• Year 1 made musical instruments out of rubbish and had lots of fun playing them. they used face paints which represented endangered species such as panda, butterflies ,cheetahs and dressed in green .
• Year 2 planted their sun flower plants which they had grown from seed.
• Year 3 learnt about the importance of water.
• Year 4 learnt about the rain forest
• Year 5 visit the landfill site in Bury.
An amazing day was had by all .
