As part of our Eco School Project, some of our children have been doing something very practical!
They have been busy turning a forgotten corner of the school grounds into a special Wild Flower Garden.
These photos show some of the Year Three pupils planting seeds in the garden.
Mrs Parker (Shannon's Grandma) has been coming in each week working on the garden with pupils from all classes.
The area has been a problem to clear and the children from Year Six have worked very hard clearing rubbish and litter which had accumulated over time.
A lot of rubbish had found its way there in the past. Many tin cans and plastic objects were unearthed. The pupils learnt the hard way that these are not biodegradable!!!
And it's not just flowers that the children have been planting! Alongside the Wild Flower Garden, there are some grey containers in which Mr Dunstan and some students have planted potatoes (see photo, below left). These are going to be eaten by the children later in the summer!
