Eco-Pages - Year 1

Year 1 Lots of birds eating at our bird tree.

Year 1 children re-cycled food to make bird cake for their bird table outside the classroom.

For Eco week we made bird cakes to encourage the birds to come into our school grounds.

When we melted the lard it changed colour and went runny. It smelt yucky!

Then we mixed everything together. When it was ready, we hung the bird cake up around our school.

We watched the birds eating our bird cake. We saw lots of starlings but only one sparrow.

Some seeds fell off the bird cake so some of the birds flew down to eat them.
