On Thursday the 1st of October, Fiona Stanley, an Eco-School assessor from ENCAM came to assess our school for the our second Green Flag Status. (In order to be an "Eco School" the Green flag has to be re-applied for every two years.)
The children on the eco-committee took the assessor around our school to show her all the wonderful things the children at Our Lady of Mount Carmel do to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. She was very impressed. The eco concept is firmly embedded in our curriculum and school. It is supported by all members of our school community.
Everyone has worked so hard and retaining the Green Flag status is a wonderful achievement.
Mrs. Brennan can now retire as Eco-co-ordinator knowing that our ecological awareness will continue to flourish to much greater heights in the wonderful hands of Mrs. Winterbottom and Mrs. Connaghan.
